Steve Minions, BSC, P.Geo
Geological Consultant
Steve is a geologist with over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in Alberta and British Columbia. He has collaborated on significant discoveries and development drilling programs in the Slave Point, Leduc, Nisku, Wabamun, Kiskatinaw, Montney and Lower Mannville successions, and evaluated plays and prospects from surface to basement. He is conversant with a variety of exploration and development tools as they can be applied to the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (seismic, microseismic, geochemistry, sedimentology, structural geology, petrophysics, reservoir engineering, land, H2S regulatory issues) and has directly led and drilled more than 250 wells (horizontal and vertical).
Ian Ross, P.Land
Land Consultant
Ian Ross is a professional landman with over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. His experience covers surface and mineral acquisition and administration, A&D and negotiations. He graduated from Mount Royal College in 1985 and is an active member of the Canadian Association of Land and Energy Professional (CALEP).
Delio Tortosa, M.Sc, P.Eng
Geological Consultant
Mr. Tortosa is a geological consultant currently specializing in gold, copper, and uranium exploration, with a technical background in the application of geographic information systems and 3D modeling for the geosciences. He has over 30 years of experience, having worked both in the mining and mineral exploration industry, in government as a geoscientist with the Ontario Geological Survey, as Resident Geologist for the Wawa District, and in academia teaching GPS, GIS and Remote Sensing at Lake Superior State University. Mr. Tortosa holds an Honours in B.Sc. in Geological Engineering from Queen’s University (1974) and a M.Sc. from the University of Saskatchewan (1983).
Bill Kerr, B.Sc, P.Geo
Geological Consultant
Bill Kerr is a geologist with over 40 years in the Canadian and international exploration and mining industry. His primary interests are gold and uranium exploration and mining. He was directly responsible for discovery of two of the worlds four highest grade uranium deposits, (Phoenix and Midwest A) and was a geophysical contractor 40 years ago for the surveys that defined the conductors that became the other two (McArthur River and Cigar Lake). He was QP for the mining of all the McClean Lake deposits, by operator AERVA. He has spent many years in Ontario, and was exploration manager for Dome Mines for the Red Lake and Timmins offices. During that time, he was involved, in varying degrees, with discovery and delineation of economically mineable gold deposits at Dona Lake, Detour Lake, and Musslewhite. He has personally staked more than 500 claims, and was awarded in 1996, and maintains, a lifetime Prospector Licence through MNDM.
Dr. Jay Hodgson, B.Sc, M.Sc, PhD
Research Exploration Geologist
Dr. Hodgson is a Research Exploration Geologist with over 40 years of worldwide experience in base metal and precious metal exploration. He is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal and received his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley. From 1972 to 1995, Dr. Hodgson was Professor of Economic Geology at Queen’s University where he taught and carried out a program of mineral exploration research on gold, base metal VMS and Sedex, and copper-gold porphyry deposits in collaboration with the mining industry. During his tenure at Queen’s University, he supervised over 50 graudte theses and published 45 scientific papers including several landmark articles on economic geology and exploration. From 1996 to 2006, Dr. Hodgson was Chief Geologist at Barrick Gold Corp. where he was involved with designing Barrick’s worldwide exploration programs and ensuring that the company maintained its technical edge among the gold exploration word. During his mandate at Barrick, he was involved with the exploration of several world-class gold deposits such as Pierina and Alto Chicama in Peru, Pascua-Lama in Chile, Valadero in Argentina, and Bulyanhulu in Tanzania. Dr. Hodgson brings an invaluable wealth of experience and his passion and enthusiasm for exploration to Argo Gold.
Kenneth Williamson M.Sc., P.Geo
Consultant
Mr. Williamson is a professional geologist with over 15 years of experience in the gold mining industry. Kenneth graduated from the University of Laval with a Masters Degree in Structural Geology, in 2002. From 2004-2010, Kenneth worked as a Special Projects Geologist at the Goldcorp Red Lake Gold Mines, where he developed a strong interest in integrating his structural geology expertise and mapping skills into 3D geological models. Kenneth has been, amongst other tasks, in charge of the elaboration of both the unified Campbell-Red Lake deposit-scale and Red Lake district-scale 3D litho-structural models. In 2010, Kenneth accepted a job for the “Bureau de l’Exploration Géologique du Québec” (BEGQ) where he had the opportunity to work on a regional mapping campaign in the Matagami area which culminated with the elaboration of the Matagami district scale 3D model. From 2011 to 2013, Kenneth took the position of Project Geologist with InnovExplo, a Val-d’Or-based consulting firm, where he developed his Mineral Resource Estimate skills. Late in 2013, Kenneth joined Premier Gold Mines first as a Senior Geologist and later as the Manager of the Technical Services, where he was responsible for providing geological, modelling and resource estimate expertise to various project teams. In 2017, Kenneth returned to the consulting business and joined up with MRB & Associates, another Val-d’Or based consulting firm.
