Judy Baker

Judy Baker is the founder, CEO, and a Director of Argo Gold.  Argo Gold was initially active in high-grade gold exploration in northwestern Ontario and since 2023 has been in oil development and production in the Lloydminster area of Alberta.  Ms. Baker has over 30 years of experience in the mining and mineral exploration sectors.  Capital markets experience includes research, equity analysis, IPO’s, valuation, restructuring, sales and fund management.  Over the last 15 years, Ms. Baker has founded multiple mineral exploration companies and raised over $30 million for exploration and development.  Ms. Baker holds an Honours B.Sc. Geological Engineering in Mineral Resources Exploration from Queen’s University (1990) and an M.B.A. from Ivey Business School (1995).

Mr. Poggione has over 25 years of experience in capital markets, including research, equity analysis, IPO’s, CPC’s, mine site visits, and portfolio management. He has worked in business development with New Age Metals, El-Nino Ventures, Metal Quest Mining and Rockport Capital. In 2019 he helped coordinate the winter drill campaign at Argo Gold’s Uchi Lake property. In 2018 he founded the Poggione Group focusing on digital marketing strategies for businesses. He obtained the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation in 2013.

Mr. Villigran Garcia is an Engineer and an MBA that has been involved in the mining industry for two decades.  Mr. Villagran Garcia assists the company on various corporate fronts including the social media platform to generate market awareness. Mr. Villagran Garcia has served as a Director and Officer of several Public Companies listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ and the TSX Venture Exchange. Mr. Villagran Garcia studied Industrial and Systems Engineering at ITESM and obtained an MBA from the University of Texas & ITESM Academic Venture.

Vivian Austin

Corporate Controller

Ms. Austin has twenty-five years experience in progressive accounting positions with a publicly traded mining company on both the TSE and NYSE exchanges, with revenues to $USD50 MM/yr. This company also had significant international (Zambian and Mongolian) assets, and as such, Ms. Austin is familiar with all cross-border tax and accounting issues, such as ASPE, IFRS, SOX, and VAT.

George Langdon, B.Sc, M.Sc, PhD (Geology)

Director

George S. Langdon is a petroleum geologist with over 30 years experience in the old and gas industry. He holds a doctorate in Earth Sciences from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In the last 20 years he has been involved as a technical consultant and investor in building several junior public resource exploration companies, and was co-founder and President of Shoal Point Energy Ltd. from 2007 to 2013, as well as a director of Gulf Shores Resources from 2000 to 2016, and Contact Exploration from 2001 to 2008.  He currently is also a Director of Relay Medical Corp., a medical diagnostics development company.

Chris Wardrop is a lawyer in Northern Ontario with a practice that focuses on Real Estate, Estate Planning & Estate Administration and Corporate & Commercial Law.
Over the past 25 years, he has been involved in several companies owning interests in a number of diverse business activities including the food and beverage industry, real estate, junior resourcesector, and private money lending.

Mr. Armes currently serves as Managing Director of Enviromine Inc., a private mineral exploration and development company based in Toronto, Ontario.  He previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Ophir Gold (MinKap Resources Inc.) from 2016 until 2021 and served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of ALX Uranium Corp. (formerly, Lakeland Resources Inc.) from 2010 to 2016.  Jon has provided corporate development, project management and investor relations services to both public and private mining exploration companies for over 20 years. Jon graduated from the University of Guelph in 1993 with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree.

Dan Williams, P.Eng.

Dan Williams is an engineer with over 25 years experience in the oil and gas industry.  His experience is focused on upstream and subsurface activity across numerous conventional, unconventional, and tight oil and gas plays in Western Canada.  Previous roles have provided extensive experience in evaluations for acquisition and divestment, management of corporate reserves, and building capital budgets.


Steve Minions, B.Sc, P.Geo

Geological Consultant

Steve is a geologist with over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in Alberta and British Columbia. He has collaborated on significant discoveries and development drilling programs in the Slave Point, Leduc, Nisku, Wabamun, Kiskatinaw, Montney and Lower Mannville successions, and evaluated plays and prospects from surface to basement. He is conversant with a variety of exploration and development tools as they can be applied to the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (seismic, microseismic, geochemistry, sedimentology, structural geology, petrophysics, reservoir engineering, land, H2S regulatory issues) and has directly led and drilled more than 250 wells (horizontal and vertical).


Bill Kerr, B.Sc, P.Geo

Geological Consultant

Bill Kerr is a geologist with over 40 years in the Canadian and international exploration and mining industry. His primary interests are gold and uranium exploration and mining. He was directly responsible for discovery of two of the worlds four highest grade uranium deposits, (Phoenix and Midwest A) and was a geophysical contractor 40 years ago for the surveys that defined the conductors that became the other two (McArthur River and Cigar Lake). He was QP for the mining of all the McClean Lake deposits, by operator AERVA. He has spent many years in Ontario, and was exploration manager for Dome Mines for the Red Lake and Timmins offices. During that time, he was involved, in varying degrees, with discovery and delineation of economically mineable gold deposits at Dona Lake, Detour Lake, and Musslewhite. He has personally staked more than 500 claims, and was awarded in 1996, and maintains, a lifetime Prospector Licence through MNDM.


Dr. Jay Hodgson, B.Sc, M.Sc, PhD

Research Exploration Geologist

Dr. Hodgson is a Research Exploration Geologist with over 40 years of worldwide experience in base metal and precious metal exploration. He is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal and received his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley. From 1972 to 1995, Dr. Hodgson was Professor of Economic Geology at Queen’s University where he taught and carried out a program of mineral exploration research on gold, base metal VMS and Sedex, and copper-gold porphyry deposits in collaboration with the mining industry. During his tenure at Queen’s University, he supervised over 50 graudte theses and published 45 scientific papers including several landmark articles on economic geology and exploration. From 1996 to 2006, Dr. Hodgson was Chief Geologist at Barrick Gold Corp. where he was involved with designing Barrick’s worldwide exploration programs and ensuring that the company maintained its technical edge among the gold exploration word. During his mandate at Barrick, he was involved with the exploration of several world-class gold deposits such as Pierina and Alto Chicama in Peru, Pascua-Lama in Chile, Valadero in Argentina, and Bulyanhulu in Tanzania. Dr. Hodgson brings an invaluable wealth of experience and his passion and enthusiasm for exploration to Argo Gold.
